In Oprah’s 2020 Vision tour, Oprah interviews Lady Gaga, and it one to be bookmarked.

Lady Gaga shares her challenges with PTSD from when she was raped at 19, her journey with Fibromyalgia, and how she lives each day taking care of her mental health to survive. She goes over how her trauma response follows her in life and how her experience with emotional pain had lead to her self harm, which she has overcome. She advocates for various mental health treatments, from the medications that have helped her, as well as her individual psychotherapy with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Lady Gaga goes over several DBT skills she often utilizes, from TIPP, Checking the Facts, Problem Solving, Opposite Action, and the three states of mind, Wise Mind, Emotion Mind, and Reasonable Mind. The skill she emphasizes the most though was Radical Acceptance. Lady Gaga repeatedly remarked on how Radically Accepting life as it is, her pain as it is, actually helped relieve her pain and suffering. She shares how she found meaning her suffering as well.

This is truly an interview to take in as Oprah and Lady Gaga talk about the importance of mental health, and how there’s no need for shame as well.
